The Reivers were an Austin pop band founded in 1984. Taking their name from a William Faulkner novel, the band almost effortlessly meshed together musically. Music writer Peter Blackstock pretty much hit the nail on the head when he described them as "a classic pop band... They balanced memorable melodies and unstoppable energy with seemingly effortless ease, contrasting the rough and sweet vocals of frontfolks John Croslin and Kim Longacre (respectively) amid an infectious swirl of chiming guitars and the unbelievably lively rhythms of drummer Garrett Williams and bassist Cindy Toth." Having reunited (and renamed themselves "Right Or Happy") briefly in 2008, they've reunited once again as The Reivers with the intent to release an album this year. They're also playing GrulkeFest, an event at ACL Live at the Moody Theatre in memory and in celebration of SXSW creative director Brent Grulke. You can see The Reivers at GrulkeFest oor you can hear them play live on KUT RIGHT HERE!...
