Music, Music ArchiveHard Proof in Studio 1a 9/27/12Austin collective Hard Proof has taken on the daunting task of bringing Afrobeat music to Texas. So far, they've been fantastically successful. The nine-piece outfit absolutely tears it up at their live shows, rocking venues with the energy of their sub-Saharan sounds. Interweaved with their Afrobeat sensibilities are traces of funk, jazz, and punk, creating a very compelling blend of sounds. On Friday, Hard Proof will make an appearance at Utopiafest, and tomorrow, Hard Proof will stop by Studio 1a to play live on KUT.... |
