Yes sir, I've said it many times before, and I'll happily say so again: Dale Watson is an Austin Music Minute favorite. The country-western troubadour keeps the classic sounds alive with the help of that mighty baritone and all the right pickin’.
If you’re still one of those folks stumbling around without a go-to term to describe Watson’s style, simply turn to the description he made up, Ameripolitan, just to get people off his back about it already. He’s described it as “original music with ‘a prominent’ roots influence.” But the bottom line: Get rid of all your preconceived notions. It’s simply the real deal. And if you still don't get it, then...wow.
