About Storyboard Austin
Storyboard is a multimedia production unit within KUT. On this page you will find videos that highlight the unique perspectives, interesting events and behind-the-scenes interviews with musicians, artists, and everyday people that make Austin, Austin. We are excited to find new ways to be “public-radio” on-line and share Austin’s stories with the world.

With this series we ask artists about their development, the creative process and perspectives on their work. We also love asking the question, “what does it mean to be an artist?” We look for the extraordinary in the everyday, and feel it’s important to collect and share the stories that don’t always make the headlines, but are a significant part of what it means to be human.
We are always coming across things on the web that inspire us and capture our attention. Here you will find the videos that are our equivalent to public radio’s “driveway moments”. These are the pieces that are just too interesting, captivating, or inspiring to turn off, and we can’t help but share them with you.
It can be hard to describe certain Austin events to someone who’s not familiar with the Austin area, so in this section we capture the events and moments that make Austin such a fun place to live and to visit. Whether it’s the queer prom or the blessing of Barton Springs, we want to be able to share those things that keep us saying, “there’s no place like home.”
Twice a month the Cactus Cafe hosts KUT’s Views and Brews.
Views and Brews is a free space where we invite the community in to explore a wide range of subjects and ideas. Already we’ve talked about Jazz and the Spiritual Journey through the music of John Coltrane, Drugs and the Olympics, Texas Politics, the History of Radio, Women in the Jazz Conversation, Texas high school football, and the life of Tennessee Williams. All that and we’ve only just begun!
Our goal is to engage with the community to share thoughts, inspire new perspectives, and develop compelling multimedia content all while involving Austin in the discussion.
