Arts Eclectic: SoundSpace

In addition to holding a doctorate in trombone, Steve Parker is the Artist-in-Residence at UT’s Blanton Museum of Art. In that capacity, he started an occasional concert series called SoundSpace, in which local musicians and bands perform (often at the same time) in different areas of the museum.

The fifth installment in the SoundSpace series is coming up on March 10, and in a nice tie-in to the opening of SXSW, the theme this time out will be blurring of the lines between classical music and rock and pop.

Scheduled artists include Graham Reynolds (who will be composing and improvising works inspired by the art on display in his area of the museum), Mother Falcon, Peter Stopchinski, Bel Cuore Saxophone Quartet, One Ounce Opera, Andy Sigler, and Convergence.
