KUTX is on the air

Happy New Year!
Jan. 2, 2012 is a milestone in the history of KUT. Today marks the beginning of new and expanded services from KUT public radio.
KUT 90.5 is now your source for news and timely discussion 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The programs you rely on, such as “Morning Edition,” “Fresh Air,” “A Prairie Home Companion” and “This American Life,” have now been joined by “The Takeaway” with John Hockenberry, “Tell Me More” with Michel Martin, NPR’s “Talk of the Nation,” “Marketplace Money,” “Q with Jian Ghomeshi,” “The Moth,” “Rick Steves Travel” and more.
The music programs and hosts you love — “Eklektikos,” “Twine Time,” “Horizontes,” “Texas Music Matters,” “Left of the Dial,” “World Music” and “Across the Water,” along with Jay Trachtenberg, Laurie Gallardo and more — will continue to broadcast in their current time slots on KUTX 98.9, the Austin Music Experience. You’ll hear Susan Castle, Jody Denberg, Matt Reilly and Kevin Connor in new spots. We’re also producing new music programs, such as “Jazz with Jay Trachtenberg,” “Sunday Mornings with Jody Denberg” and “What’s Next with Jeff McCord.”
