Ruthie Foster @ KUT 12/11/12

December 10, 2012 10:15 am by: Reid O'Conor

Singer-songwriter Ruthie Foster truly earns the hyphenate title of “singer-songwriter.” She has a voice that can bring down the house, coupled with a songwriting ability that cuts straight to the truth of  life’s big issues. Foster’s passionate soul/blues style have lead some to compare here to legends such as Aretha Franklin and Ella Fitzgerald. At the beginning of the year, Ruthie Foster released her latest album, Let It Burn. Presented with the opportunity to record in New Orleans, she let the historic culture of the city infuse itself in her music,  which resulted in something fantastic. Tomorrow, you can hear Ruthie Foster perform live on KUT when she joins us in Studio 1a. Take a listen to that session RIGHT HERE!
