My KUTX Guest DJ Schedule
Eleven Austin musicians are taking the helm at KUTX 98.9, the Austin Music Experience, to play their own hand-picked music sets one day ahead of the station’s official launch on Jan. 2.
“The ‘My KUTX Guest DJ’ series, which began recording in August, was a way to acquaint local musicians with the new KUT Public Media Studios and allow them to play music host for an audience,” said Matt Reilly, KUTX program director. “We couldn’t think of a better way to launch KUTX 98.9, the Austin Music Experience.”
The KUTX guest DJ sets begin at 6 a.m. New Year’s Day with Asleep At The Wheel’s Ray Benson and concludes at 5 a.m. Wednesday when KUTX music host Susan Castle begins her morning music set.
