I see a name like Jens Lekman on a Mohawk bill for this Tuesday, and I can safely determine that it’s going to be a knockout show, packed to the gills. Add Victoria Bergsman‘s indie folk solo project Taken By Trees and it’s one major errmagerrd. It’s bound to be a killer show. But, as your humble Austin Music Minute maven, I’m always determined to get the word out about the aftershows following the big gigs, because they’re just as fantastic and fun to check out.
Tuesday night presents a perfect example of that! Following the Jens Lekman/Taken By Trees performances is an aftershow with three of my local favorites:
-The man whose voice I want to marry. Pop magnificence courtesy of Paul Banks & The Carousels.
-Pop on a cinematic scale by indie trio Belaire.
-Rhythmic, animated pop with local sextet The Sour Notes.
Don’t miss out. Check out the aftershow immediately following Lekman at 11 p.m. on the Mohawk‘s indoor stage, 912 Red River. Great music all around. Recommended.
