Ann Ciccolella, the artistic director for Austin Shakespeare, had been looking for a suitable stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice for quite a while when she found a new version by Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan. This take on the classic story struck her as just right, and she was ready to finally put the story on the Austin stage.

She enlisted the Dutch painter Emilie Houssart to create the scenic designs, Haydee Antunano to take on the costuming, and the award-winning Jason Amato to work on the set design. Toni Bravo provides choreography and Ciccolella herself is directing the show.

The professional cast is headed by Liz Beckham as Elizabeth Bennet and Michael Miller as Mr. Darcy.
