November 28, 2012 5:02 pm by: Mark Dewey

The Austin metro area will grow more in the next five years than any other in the United States, according to a new study based on U.S. Census Data.

The projection is for Austin to grow by 7.5 percent, adding 50,000 households. In a first-place tie with Austin is Provo, Utah.

Texas claims five of the top ten big-growth cities in the Pitnes Bowes “Metro Magnets Index.”  In addition to Austin were Killeen/Temple, San Antonio, Houston, and McAllen.

The study defined Austin as including Round Rock and San Marcos.
