THE GOOD MUSIC CLUB: Megafauna

October 25, 2012 4:24 pm by: Laurie Gallardo

Go buy some new socks, because you’re about to have yours blown right off. Brace yourself for this mind-blowing edition of The Good Music Club! The GMC is a live monthly music event and online video series highlighting the best local music artists that give Austin its reputation of being THE Live Music Capital of the World. The GMC records performances by participating bands, then shares the videos with new fans and resources outside of Austin. Our goal is to to reach new fans in cities across the country and worldwide.

Today, we present local rock powerhouse trio Megafauna, a solid yet intricate mix of multiple influences – prog rock, punk, metal, and classic rock. Frontwoman Dani Neff’s vocals push it over the top. Yet, there’s also the unmistakable presence of a rock-goddess brutality, reminding you that the bone-rattling turbulence of Neff’s monster guitar riffs are not necessarily for the faint of heart.

Make plans to join us for the next taping of The GMC tomorrow night at The ND, located at E. 5th St. and Brushy, in the same neighborhood as Progress Coffee. What an incredible line-up: Lord Buffalo, Wino Vino, Wiretree, and Akina Adderley & The Vintage Playboys. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the first taping starts at 9 p.m. Admission is FREE. See you there!
