Attention survivors of the 2012 ACL Fest: I have the perfect way to wind down after the crazy weekend. I’d like to introduce you to The Blackwells.

The Austin-based band is originally from Asheville, NC. They’ve assembled a rich hybrid of folk and Americana, and within it you feel a profound reverence for music from days gone by, the numerous folk and roots influences that inspire their songwriting. Yet they look forward to new audiences they can share such inspiration with. They’ve summed it up perfectly themselves: “Their eyes are fixed on the future with their hearts rooted in the past.”

You can see The Blackwells perform tonight at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, on the indoor stage. Starting out the evening is Boston-based fiery folk rock/pop brigade Wilder Maker. Doors open at 9 p.m. Recommended.
