No Change at QB for Longhorns
The end zone proved elusive last week. Photo by KUT NewsThe University of Texas football team had to come from behind to beat Kansas on Saturday. That comeback was orchestrated largely with backup quarterback Case McCoy in the game.
McCoy replaced an unproductive David Ash and led the team on two touchdown drives.
But at his weekly press conference today, head coach Mach Brown said he would start Ash this weekend and send McCoy back to the bench.
“Case knows that we will not hesitate to put him in. And David knows that too,” Brown said. “It is a competition. But because you have a bad three quarters doesn’t mean you still haven’t done a lot this year. So we’re going to go back and let David practice as a starter this week. But we’ll keep Case close.”
The Longhorns play Texas Tech on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Lubbock.
