Yes, sir. One of my local favorites, Mrs. Glass, still knows how to rattle the floorboards at The White Horse. Frontman/vocalist Jordan Webster is the man behind the moniker “Mrs. Glass,” although that killer gravelly voice makes it very evident that he’s hardly a missus.

Originally an Iowa native, Webster hitchhiked his way to New Orleans when he was a teenager, then left after Hurricane Katrina and moved to Austin. The story, if you haven’t heard by now (and you just may have), goes like this: Webster met bassist Ivan Evangelista and drummer Ian Fry at some random gig at the Hole In the Wall one night. The three bandidos started jamming together even before they spoke to one another. I mean, you can’t make this stuff up.

Check out Mrs. Glass at their Tuesday night residency gig tonight at The White Horse, 500 Comal St.  They’re onstage by midnight. Get there earlier to catch Union Specific at 10 p.m., and The Reality at 7 p.m.
