KUT’s Studio 1A
The Walkmen in the new Studio 1A. Photo by Bob Cross. KUT’s Studio 1A has been an integral piece of the Austin music scene for the past few decades. The studio has hosted national acts stopping in Austin, including Adele, Lee Fields, The Head and the Heart, The English Beat and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero, as well as Austin-based artists with a national reputation, such as Sarah Jarosz, Kat Edmonson, Lyle Lovett, Patty Griffin and Grupo Fantasma.
Previously tucked away in the basement of our old building, the new Studio 1A is a 72-seat, glass-walled space that will open up some of our nearly 300 annual performances to the community, enabling KUT to connect fans with artists in a more intimate setting. Additionally, each performance is digitized and preserved so that it will live on for future generations.
It’s your support that enables us to record, digitize, archive and share these unique performances for future generations to experience. Please call 471-6291 to pledge your support or donate online today!
