AUSTIN, Texas Oct. 4, 2012—KUT 90.5 is helping music fans discover new artists and celebrate their favorites with exclusive performances, artist interviews and behind-the-scenes coverage of the 2012 Austin City Limits Musical Festival.

KUT’s festival coverage kicks off at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, with “KUT Live at the Four Seasons,” a pre-festival showcase, hosted by KUT’s Kevin Connor, featuring diverse artists, including Austin rock band Quiet Company (9 a.m.), Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit (10 a.m.), Italian singer-songwriter and rapper Jovanotti (11 a.m.) and Brooklyn-based Afrobeat band Antibalas (noon). All performances will be broadcast live on KUT 90.5.

“KUT Live at the Four Seasons,” is open to the public on a first-come, first served basis. Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite chair or blanket to relax and enjoy the show at the Four Seasons Austin Hotel, 98 San Jacinto Blvd., downtown. Admission is $10 and includes a breakfast taco and coffee. Proceeds benefit the Seton Shivers Cancer Center.

At noon Friday, Oct. 5, “Texas Music Matters,” KUT’s music journalism unit, will broadcast its annual ACL Fest preview show “The List.” The one-hour broadcast aims to help festival-goers discover some of the best — but under-the-radar — new artists playing at the festival, while previewing some of the most anticipated performances. “The List” will air a second time at 11 p.m. Friday.

On the first day of the festival, 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, Texas Music Matters will produce “The Best of KUT’s ACL Live at the Four Seasons,” a compilation of the best live performances and artist interviews — from Quiet Company, First Aid Kit, Jovanotti and Antibalas — from “KUT Live at the Four Seasons” earlier that day.

Throughout the festival weekend, KUT Music will be onsite at Zilker Park delivering artist interviews, behind-the-scenes reports, updates and up-to-the-minute reports on what’s happening at ACL Fest. Kevin Connor’s music show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, and Jody Denberg’s special broadcast from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, will feature interviews with The Black Keys, Andrew Bird, The Avett Brothers, Michael Kiwanuka and many more.

During all 72 hours of ACL Fest, KUT.org will prominently feature ACL Fest coverage, including live updates, photos and videos.

Support for KUT’s ACL Fest coverage is made possible by Chem-Free Organic Pest & Lawn Services and Opal Divine’s Austin Grill.
