About People’s Community Clinic:
People’s Community Clinic’s (PCC) mission is to improve the health of medically underserved and uninsured Central Texans by providing high quality, affordable healthcare. PCC delivers care with respect and dignity to people with little or no health insurance, without exclusion.
The Clinic has offered services continuously since 1970, and is one of the longest-running clinics for primary care in America. It is locally managed, privately and publicly funded, and focuses on meeting the healthcare needs of uninsured and underserved residents in the Greater Austin area, as well as surrounding counties.
PCC provides a broad array of primary health and wellness services—prenatal, pediatric and adult care; specialized adolescent care; immunizations; testing and screenings; social work and mental health services; nutritional counseling; and chronic disease management. The Clinic also maintains onsite pharmacy and lab services, allowing “one stop shopping” for our 10,000 patients.
PCC has pioneered a healthcare model that provides the right care, at the right time, in the most cost- efficient way. This approach emphasizes preventive care delivered by a consistent primary care team, which includes a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant supported by a nurse and medical assistant. In addition, the support of social workers, health educators, and a nutritionist enable the medical team to treat the “whole person”. By engaging each patient as a full partner in his or her own care, PCC fosters long-term good health.

The Young Professionals for People’s (YPP) is a group of up and coming professionals from the Austin area that get together in support of People’s Community Clinic. YPP holds quarterly networking events at fabulous locations around Austin.
YPP’s next event will be Tuesday, October 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Black Star Co-op Pub and Brewery, located at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and North Lamar. Black Star will be serving up original hand-crafted brews and locally sourced farm-fresh delights. This is a great opportunity to learn about the work of our clinic, and have some fun as well.
