Federal Appeals Court Rules Execution Can Proceed
A Texas death row inmate is once again facing execution this evening.
44-year-old Jonathan Green’s execution was blocked on Monday when a federal judge ruled that due process was violated in Green’s competency hearing.
Now, a federal appeals court has overturned that decision, meaning Green will be put to death.
Green is convicted of the abduction, rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in 2000.
He’s set to be executed this evening. He will be the tenth Texas inmate to die this year.
