Music Director Jeff McCord interviews Gotye at the KUT tent during the 2012 ACL Festival. Wouter DeBacker’s performance is one of the most eagerly awaited of ACL Fest weekend. What? Oh– then perhaps you know of him simply as ‘Gotye’: the guy with one of the year’s biggest singles. “Somebody That I Used to Know” may have reached #1 on the Billboard Top 100, yet the Belgian-born singer-songwriter has managed to maintain much of his indie-rock cred thanks to a depth of repertoire and an attention to songcraft that’s drawn critical comparisons to Sting and Peter Gabriel.
