The Weary Boys @ KUT 9/19/12

September 18, 2012 10:49 am by: Reid O'Conor

Austin-by-way-of-Northern-California band The Weary Boys plays a brand of country music that harkens back to Austin’s debut as a music hotspot in the 1970s, when outlaw country reigned supreme. In that way, the band situates themselves in a growing resurgence of the outlaw country aesthetic, along with Crooks and Guns of Navarone, among others. The Weary Boys have been gaining a lot of ground since their formation in 2000, going from playing street corners to opening for the likes of Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, Leon Russel, and The Drive-By Truckers. The Weary Boys have a show Friday Sept. 21st at Antone’s, but you can hear them live on KUT RIGHt HERE.
