Ole Miss Will Test UT, Coach says

UT head football coach Mack Brown says the team will face its toughest opponent so far this year when it plays the University of Mississippi on this road this weekend.

The Longhorns beat New Mexico 45-0 Saturday night. But Brown told reporters Mississippi’s offense will be tougher.

“They’re very much like the teams that we face in the Big 12,” Brown said. “They are up-tempo no-huddle. They’re number 10 in total offense in the country with 551 yards. They’re averaging 38.5 points a game. But look how balanced they are. They’re rushing the ball for 283 yards per game and passing it for 268 yards per game.”

The Longhorns have won five of the six games between the two schools. The last time Texas played Mississippi was 1966.
