Michael McDermott @ KUT 9/25/12

September 25, 2012 4:56 pm by: Peter Babb

Folk rocker Michael McDermott has come a long way, both in his career and in his life. McDermott has gone from addiction to philanthropy, from his first album (620 West Surf) to his latest (Hit Me Back). The new album reflects these massive changes throughout the course of his life, and preaches optimism through and through. McDermott is a musician with direct inspirations from the likes of Bob Dylan and Van Morrison, but with his own distinct take on the folk rock genre. Michael McDermott will play a show on Tuesday night at the Saxon Pub. Meanwhile, you can listen now to a session he recorded with KUT earlier today in Studio 1a.

Great to hear these songs from “Hit Me Back” played live. It’s a fantastic album. Every song is magnificent. Especially “Scars from Another Life”. Great engineering from former U2 engineer CJ Eiriksson. Please play “Hit Me Back” and thank you supporting important artists like Michael McDermott.
