Jeff Lofton @ KUT 9/26/12

September 25, 2012 10:04 am by: Reid O'Conor

When Austin trumpeter, composer and bandleader Jeff Lofton is brought up for discussion, it’s not long before you hear comparisons to Miles Davis. It’s easy to see why: Lofton’s skill is astounding, he’s a jazz musician, and he plays the trumpet. Miles Davis is the touchstone for all of the above. But that’s not to say that the comparisons are unwarranted, because as said before: his skill is astounding. Jeff Lofton invites those comparisons on Saturday, with a 1950s Miles Davis tribute show at the Scottish Rite Theater. Jeff Lofton joined us in Studio 1a and you can hear his entire set RIGHT HERE!
