Grisha @ KUT 9/12/12

September 11, 2012 11:40 am by: Reid O'Conor

It wouldn’t be a stretch to call classical guitarist Grisha Goryachev a virtuoso. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Grisha began to play the guitar at the age of 6. He was taught by his father, Dmitry, a renowned teacher of the instrument. At the age of 9, he was considered a prodigy, playing in concert halls across the Soviet Union. Grisha specializes in solo flamenco performance, frequently reviving old compositions that exist only as recordings and reinterpreting them, creating beautiful arrangements. On Thursday, Grisha will be performing at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, or you can listen to them live in Studio 1a RIGHT HERE.
