The weather reports we’ve been seeing tell us that it’s going to rain tonight and tomorrow, so you might want to plan ahead for a rainy weekend. Get a couple of dvds ready, stock up on snacks, and most importantly, download this podcast so you can listen to it over and over again for the next few days.

We’ve got two pieces for you on today’s ‘cast, one from an O’Dark veteran and one from a new friend. We’ll jump in the wayback machine to bring you the very first radio piece ever produced by our old buddy Jake Warga, the very moving Brian’s Story. This is the kind of piece that’s impressive coming from any producer, but it’s astounding that this is what Jake came up with his first time out. That dude is pretty good at this radio production biz.

But before that, it’s a new installment of one of our favorite new things in the radio realm. Our new O’Dark buddy Blake Cooper produces a show called Sounds Familiar, which looks at trends and  connections in the wide pop culture world. Blake always comes up with something interesting to explore, and this time out he’s investigating the recurring use of the drum beat from “Be My Baby.” Really fascinating stuff.
