A Fort Hood spokesman declined to say why Major Nidal Hasan was hospitalized. According to a press release, Hasan is in good condition and should be released within 48 hours.
Hasan’s trial for the November 2009 shooting is on hold because of his beard, which violates Army rules. He is appealing a judge’s ruling that the beard be forcibly shaved.
