The Sierra Club has been working recently to get regulators to incentivize more solar projects in Texas. One of the lead voices from the Sierra Club calling for more solar is Al Armendariz, the former regional director for the Environmental Protection Agency. Armendariz resigned from the EPA this year after a video surfaced of him saying that the best way to deal with polluters is to find a few breaking the law and “crucify them.” Terrence Henry of StateImpact Texas spoke with Armendariz recently about what led to his resignation, and what he hopes to do next to reduce coal power in Texas.
