Citizen Cope @ KUT 9/21/12

September 20, 2012 10:37 am by: Reid O'Conor

Musician Clarence Greenwood has been recording and performing under the pseudonym Citizen Cope for about 15 years now. He’s risen from being dropped by his first label in 1998, to selling out music halls and headlining festivals today. It’s been quite the journey, but one that hasn’t truly changed him or the root of his music. Greenwood as Cope plays a specific brand of alt rock, with influences ranging from blues, soul, and funk. Citizen Cope’s latest album, One Lovely Day, was released over the summer to an overwhelmingly critical and fan response. This weekend, Citizen Cope will play shows at Stubb’s on both Friday and Saturday night. Listen to Citizen Cope play live in Studio 1a RIGHT HERE!
