Whiskey Shivers @ KUT 8/20/2012
Sometimes in Austin, it can be easy to get bands confused because of their namesakes. There are a lot of whiskeys and ghosts and even shivers. With a name like Whiskey Shivers, it might be easy to fall into the abyss, but the five musicians in the raucous group make damn sure you won’t forget them.
Our own music maven, Laurie Gallardo is a huge fan. “This is what you could refer to as hardcore roots – traditional country with a bit of Appalachian mountain music executed on punk rock jet fuel.”
One thing you notice when watching the band perform: they’ve definitely got heart and soul. The musicianship is remarkable and you can tell they really enjoy putting on a show. They were nationally recognized when they released an especially creative music video for the song “Gimme All Your Lovin’.”
You can catch them in action at The Mohawk Wednesday, the 21st and again at Antone’s on August 25th. They recently stopped by our brand new studios and frankly, blew the roof off. Check it out here!
