Transit-Only Lanes Coming to Downtown

The addition of rapid bus lines is back in the news in Austin. KUT’s Joy Diaz talked with the Austin American-Statesman’s Ben Wear about the city and Capital Metro’s moves to get things moving along on for about 18 blocks downtown in the next six months as a part of the larger project.
There’s going to be parking that goes away on the west side of Guadalupe, and it’ll become a transit-only lane, for buses in the beginning and potentially for urban rail if the public goes along with that. Similarly, on the outside lane of Lavaca going north.
