The StoryCorps mobile booth was in Austin recently collecting stories from your fellow central Texans. The Airstream has now left town, but we’re still archiving many of those stories here.

Native Austinite Sandy Dochen has worked at IBM since 1999, he was a founder of the Texas Early Childhood and Education Coalition, and he’s a board member of KUT. Before all that, though, he was a staff member for legendary Congressman J.J. “Jake” Pickle. Mr. Pickle was the topic of conversation when Sandy sat down with his daughter Katie in the StoryCorps booth earlier this year.
