Austin’s reputation for fielding popular indie-rock groups often overshadows it’s status as a longrunning hotbed for alternative country music. San Saba County continues Austin’s rich tradition of pushing country music’s boundaries by infusing standard themes of loss and heartache with punchy guitar chords, harmonies, and rhythms you’d find in the best indie rock bands.
