Other Wildfires Burned While Bastrop Took Spotlight

September 4th will be the first anniversary of the wildfires that tore through Central Texas last year, burning nearly two thousand homes and buildings, leveling whole swaths of forest and causing firefighters, county officials and homeowners alike to rethink how they manage their land.
Most of the nation’s attention was focused on the massive Bastrop Complex fire that raged throughout September. But in the first days of the wildfires, several burned out of control. One of those was in Delhi, in Caldwell County.
Today we hear the story of the fire from volunteer firefighter Rick Chafey.
