As if a delectable triple bill wasn’t enough to send me over the top, this time I’ve got a four-band bill to rave about, and it is all good.

There’s a spectacular show lined up for you tonight at The Parish, 214 E. 6th St., with some definite Austin Music Minute favorites. Check it out:

-Alt.-country/pop rockers Guns of Navarone. You get a bit of traditional folk and country, but stepping beyond roots music with a raw mix of Southern rock, pop and punk. Engaging without oversimplifying.

-Rock ‘n’ soul band Slowtrain. Very cool pop, soul and a touch of blues that rocks not just on the guitar but also on the keys. Great music inspired by late night impromptu jams.

-Cosmic American rock quintet The Preservation. So named for their mix of a multitude of influences: Pop, psych, blues, rock, country, western and inspiration from all parts of the world. Feels like rock meets pop meets hippie redneck.

-Americana quartet Carpetbagger. Self-described “red dirt American rock ‘n’ roll” with good doses of alt.-country and a lot of Creedence Clearwater Revival soul.

Doors open at 8 p.m., and the music starts at 9 p.m. Get there early because you’ll want to see each one of these bands. Recommended to start the weekend out right.
