David Ramirez made quite an impression on us here at KUT after he filled the Cactus Cafe repeatedly for the first Artist in Residence series. If Ramirez’s distinctive raw, emotionally charged songwriting style doesn’t tug at your heart then his powerful singing certainly will. Ramirez sings about loss and love with such earnestness his live shows begin to feel like an intimate conversation with a close friend.
