As Austin continues to grow at a rapid pace, city officials and business leaders are trying to work together to help the more than 2,000 homeless people here. KUT’s Andy Uhler spoke with Vicky Garza of the Austin Business Journal about why it’s in businesses interest to get involved.
How exactly they’ll help is up to the business community. But as of now the city wants to make sure they’re part of the equation when it comes to solving the issue. City officials are considering setting aside money in an upcoming bond election to build more affordable housing. Hear the rest of the interview here or read Garza’s story in the Austin Business Journal.
