Amy Cook @ KUT 8/31/12

Originally from California, singer and songwriter Amy Cook moved to Austin in 2005 and found that the city and its music scene fit her like a glove. Her indie pop sound felt right at home in the city, but the longer she’s stayed here, the more Austin has brought out Cook’s rock and roll side. Her gradual change in sound could also be attributed to her work with Alejandro Escovedo, who has acted as both a mentor figure and producer on Cook’s recent album, Let the Light In. Her latest album, Summer Skin, is an ode to summer with some very special guest appearances. Listen here for some of the new songs from Amy Cook’s performance in the new Studio 1a. Enjoy!
