The Flame, the latest production by Aerial Arts collective Sky Candy, is a theatrical interpretation of the story of the Olympic flame, featuring the acrobatics, aerial stunts, and trapeze work that Sky Candy is known for. The show was conceived, choreographed, and directed by Andy Agne, a lifelong fan of the Olympic Games.

Agne wanted to create a work of art that would celebrate the spirit of the games, and chose the Olympic flame as the perfect symbol of that spirit. The Flame follows this story, beginning with the myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods, and continuing on into present day. The final performance of The Flame will be on Saturday, July 27, and will end with the televised coverage of the Olympic opening ceremonies, when the actual Olympic flame will arrive in London to start the game.

In keeping with the traditional spirit of the Olympics, Agne is using a cast of amateur aerialists; all the aerial performers in The Flame are Sky Candy students.
