THE GOOD MUSIC CLUB: Good Field

It’s that time again! Presenting the next edition of The Good Music Club!
The GMC serves as a unique gateway to great musical discoveries. It’s both a live monthly music event and an online video series featuring Austin-based musical artists making their mark on the local scene. Our focus is to share these great performances with new fans and resources outside of the Austin area, throughout the country and worldwide.
This week, our featured band is indie-rock quartet Good Field. The band was originally a solo recording project started by songwriter Paul Price (of Martin Crane‘s band Brazos, and The Early Tapes), with the help of Nathan Stein (Tacks the Boy Disaster, and Price’s bandmate in Brazos and The Early Tapes), and Jared Van Fleet (Voxtrot, and his solo project Sparrow House). Last summer, Price assembled the current band line-up that features drummer Esteban Cruz (Coma in Algiers), bassist Michael McLeod (film composer for Richard Linklater), and keyboardist Kyle Robertson (film/television composer). Their self-titled debut album, released earlier this year, sports some very ‘60s guitar styles, rock and pop riffs, and a bit of shoegaze swirling in the mix.
We are absolutely stoked about the next taping of The GMC, happening Saturday at The ND, located at E. 5th St. and Brushy, near Progress Coffee. The featured bands: Holy Wave, Whiskey Shivers, Moonlight Towers, and Black Tabs. This time around, doors open at 8 p.m. and the taping begins at 9 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. See you this weekend!
