Texas Collects 15 Percent More in Sales Taxes

Austin’s share of the that larger pie comes to about $12.5 million in revenue – up more than 10 percent from the same time last year. Comptroller Susan Combs says spending in manufacturing and oil and natural gas industries helped boost tax collections.
