Polls close tonight at 7 p.m. in the Republican and Democratic runoff elections.

The U.S. Senate nomination is up for grabs in both parties. In arguably the most high profile runoff, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and former state solicitor general Ted Cruz are battling for the GOP nomination. Former State Rep. Paul Sadler faces former teacher Grady Yarbrough in the race for the Democratic nomination.

Locally there are several races to follow – including the Republican nomination in State Senate District 25 where incumbent Jeff Wentworth faces a stiff challenge from Tea Party favorite Donna Campbell. There are also runoffs in the GOP primary for Railroad Commissioner, State Supreme Court and Congressional District 25.
