The 2012 Summer Olympics continue in London. KUT’s Jennifer Stayton talked with BBC presenter Joel Hammer about the games. He says some of the initial logistical kinks, such as traffic jams and security officer shortages, have been worked out, but so far the games have not been all smooth sailing, especially in attendance.

More and more it became apparent that actually it was something called the Olympic family, these tickets given to fellow athletes, to coaches and to various federations that govern sports by the Olympic body, effectively not turning up either to support fellow athletes or simply because they were trying to practice for their own events. So certain things have been put in place now that enable people who are in and around the Olympic park to pick up tickets from various Olympic-family federations that are not going to be used. So we shouldn’t see the same problems that have blighted the last couple of days.
