Volunteer Deputy Registrar Training

Don’t wait until it’s too late! Help register voters for the Presidential Election now by becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar. Travis County enjoys the highest voter registration rate among urban counties in Texas thanks in large part to its Volunteer Deputy Registrars. The invaluable support provided by Volunteer Deputy Registrars involves assisting citizens with voter registration. They distribute voter registration applications and take responsibility for making sure that citizens complete the application correctly so there is no delay in processing. They also provide a receipt that serves as proof of registration and they personally deliver applications to the Office of the Voter Registrar within 5 days of completion.
How can you become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR)? Volunteers must be 18 years or older and attend a one-hour training session where they learn about the qualifications to become a VDR and how to register voters. Regularly scheduled training is held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 6:30 pm. To request a training session for your organization, call (512) 854-9473.
