THE GOOD MUSIC CLUB: The Lonesome Heroes

June 14, 2012 2:32 pm by: Laurie Gallardo

It’s smokin’ hot, and there are many more bands ahead. We’re on a roll! Welcome to the latest edition of The Good Music Club. The GMC is a live music event and an online video series featuring some of the finest Austin-based musical artists in the local scene. The main focus of The GMC is to share all the great music coming out of Austin with new fans and resources outside of the Austin area, including cities throughout the country and worldwide.

This is proving to be quite an exciting time for The GMC. Thanks to more media attention, in addition to word-of-mouth, this means more attention for our featured artists.

This week, we present performances by The Lonesome Heroes. Core members Landry McMeans and Rich Russell formed the band in 2005. Their style is a cross-pollination of rock, folk and country with psych and indie pop – like Western-Americana with influences from their Texas and Brooklyn backgrounds.

Don’t forget that the next The Good Music Club taping is June 29th at The ND (501 North IH-35), located at E. 5th St. and Brushy, very close to Progress Coffee. This time on the show bill:  Slowtrain, Scorpion Child, Melogrand, and My Jerusalem. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the taping starts at 8 p.m. Be a part of our live studio audience!
