THE GOOD MUSIC CLUB: Frank Smith

There’s just so much great music around here that it’s mind-blowing. So we know there’s one thing for sure that must be done:  Share it all! Welcome back to another edition of The Good Music Club! For those of you just finding out about this project, here’s the scoop: The GMC is a live music event and an online video series featuring some of the finest Austin-based musical artists in the local scene. The main focus of The GMC is to share all the great music coming out of Austin with new fans and resources outside of the Austin area, including cities throughout the country and worldwide.

It’s another great selection of videos this week by Frank Smith. Originally from Boston and fronted by songwriter Aaron Sinclair, the Austin-based band built a following with a brand of sparse, indie-inflected alt-country with their earlier work. On their album, Before You Were Born, released this year, they moved toward a heavier and more atmospheric indie rock sound.

Don’t forget you have a date with The Good Music Club coming up: Our sixth taping is Friday, JUNE 29th at The ND, (501 North IH-35), located at E. 5th St. and Brushy, close to Progress Coffee. Check out this line-up:  Slowtrain, Scorpion Child, Melogrand, and My Jerusalem. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the taping starts at 8 p.m. Free admission. How can you resist? Be there!
