The Bad Livers and Split Lip Rayfield are two groups that have been on the front lines of a very modern movement. Fusing banjo-driven bluegrass with punk, both Danny Barnes of the Bad Livers and Wayne Gottstine of Split Lip Rayfield make fast, raucous music that appeals to fans of both genres.

With their new project, Split Livers, the artists are playing some of their own tunes and crafting new ones as well. This month is their first tour together as Split Livers, which they started off here in Austin at the Cactus Cafe on June 7.

They also stopped by Studio 1a to play a few songs for us, which you can listen to here.
