It seems this is a great summer for musical residencies. There are lots of good ones coming up, including Seth Sherman‘s at Club DeVille.

Sherman released a very good album last year, his debut solo effort When The Moment Is True, which features Sherman on all vocals and instrumentation. Written and recorded over a two-year time period, the album has eclectic blends of folk, rock, pop and all the careful, painstaking attention to detail that a gifted musician like Sherman gives to his craft.

These days, Sherman performs with his collaborators, like songwriter, keyboardist and artist Dieter Ray Langendorf (Halaska), drummer Steve Anderson, bassist Drew Schlegel, guitarist Morris Ramos, and vocalist Devon McDermott. I’ve gotten word that at the residency shows at Club DeVille, 901 Red River, Sherman will be joined by his band for the sets.

Each Wednesday night show will feature guest artists on the bill. This week, it’s Matt Hines of The Eastern Sea, followed by Michael Kingcaid of What Made Milwaukee Famous on June 20th, and World’s Fair on June 27th. Recommended.
