Mitt Romney is swinging through Texas on a fundraiser this week. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee was in Fort Worth and will be at an event in San Antonio tomorrow hosted by billionaire Red McCombs, among others. Jay Root with our political reporting partner The Texas Tribune says Romney will leave before the state GOP convention on Thursday.

“Well, he didn’t respond to an invitation, apparently, from the Republican party, and as you know Rick Santorum is going to be addressing the Texas Republican convention,” Root said. “So I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but that’s what’s going on.”

Romney won almost 70 percent of the Republican vote in last week’s Texas primaries.
