Songwriter Stephanie Briggs didn’t start using the alias Little Brave until last year with the release of her third album, Wound & Will. And the moniker seems most appropriate – at first, one might notice Briggs’ small frame, but more importantly, they’re soon struck by her candor, her fearlessness, and the sheer power of her voice.

Briggs’ emotional intensity is unmatched. With amazing performance skills, a wide vocal range and unwavering honesty in her song lyrics, she goes to great lengths to develop and refine her art. Just to give you an idea:  To celebrate her third album’s release, she took things a step further by producing the entire release show as a full-blown musical. Apparently, it was an extraordinary and well-received theatrical experience.

Little Brave has a new EP, Wild, due for release in August. Chances are pretty good that you may hear some of that new music at the Little Brave show tonight at Frank, 407 Colorado. The bill includes performances by local band Kinky Machine, and pedal steel master Bob Hoffnar. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Recommended.
